(General Admission/ Special Selection of Working Individuals/ Special Selection of Global Individuals in English)

(A) Eligible

  1. Individuals who have graduated from university or are scheduled to graduate by the end of March 2021 (for Special Selection of Global Individuals in English, September 2021) in course, according to Article 83 of the School Education Law.
  2. Individuals who have been granted a bachelor’s degree or are scheduled to obtain it by the end of March 2021 (for Special Selection of Global Individuals in English, September 2021) in course, according to Article 104, Paragraph 4 of the School Education Law.
  3. Individuals who have completed or are scheduled to complete by the end of March 2021 (for Special Selection of Global Individuals in English, September 2021) in course a 16-year program of school education in a country other than Japan.
  4. Individuals who, while residing in Japan, completed or are scheduled to complete by the end of March 2021 (for Special Selection of Global Individuals in English, September 2021) in course a 16-year program of school education abroad, through correspondence courses.
  5. Individuals who have graduated from a foreign country’s university located in Japan (after a 16-year education period at the time of graduation) which is recognized by the Japanese Minister of Education as a foreign country’s educational facility. The said university must be recognized by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of the Japanese Government. In this case the applicants must have completed 16 years of formal education in the said country.

    *Temple University Japan(General Studies, Communication Studies, Art, Tourism and Hospitality Management) is also designated.
    : Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Japan College (Chinese Medcine) 110-2 Itomachi, Chuo-ku, Kobe-shi, Hyogo and 104-9 Edomachi, Chuo-ku, Kobe-shi, Hyogo
    : Beijing Language and Culture University, Tokyo College (Chinese Department) 2-29-14 Minamiikebukuro, Toshima-ku, Tokyo
    : College of Tokyo Shanghai University (Chinese Department) 1-1-3 Hyakunincho, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo
  6. Individuals who have been granted a degree corresponding to a bachelor’s degree and Individuals who are expected to be granted a degree corresponding to a bachelor’s degree in the relevant year by completing a program where the course term is 3 years or more (including completing relevant programs by taking class subjects which are conducted by relevant overseas schools through correspondence courses in Japan and completing programs by an education facility positioned under the relevant overseas school education system and which are set forth in the preceding item) in overseas universities or other overseas schools (in regard to the general situation of education and research activities, etc., limited to those designated separately by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as those assessed by Individuals authorized by relevant overseas governments or institutions concerned or anything equivalent thereto).

  7. Individuals who graduated from designated specialized fields of vocational schools after the date decided by the Minister of Education (schools which require 4 or more years of study for completion, and which simultaneously fulfill the other conditions established by the Minister of Education), according to the Enforcement Regulation of the School Education Law, Article 155, Paragraph 1, Item 5.
  8. Individuals recognized by the Japanese Minister of Education as having an ability equivalent or superior to a university graduate in what concerns the admission to a graduate program, according to the Enforcement Regulation of the School Education Law, Article 155, Paragraph 1, Item 6 (Ministry of Education’s Ordinance No.11 of 1947).

(B) Eligibility Screening is required

  1. Individuals who have been recognized by Master’s Programs in Informatics in their individual qualification screening process as having an ability equivalent or superior to a university graduate and who are 22 years old or will be 22 years old by the end of March 2021 (September 2021, Special Selection of Global Individuals in English) in course.
    Qualified person: Individuals who have graduated from a junior college or an upper secondary school as latest academic background, individuals who have graduated from a vocational school or a similar school as latest academic background, individuals who have graduated from a university of a foreign country that implements less than 16 years of a school curriculum
  2. Individuals who have been enrolled in a Japanese university for more than 3 years (at the end of March 2021 (September 2021, Special Selection of Global Individuals in English) in course) and who have been recognized by the graduate school of the University of Tsukuba as having an outstanding academic record.
  3. Individuals who(at the end of March 2021 (September 2021, Special Selection of Global Individuals in English) in course) have completed a 15-year program of school education in a country other than Japan, who have completed a 15-year program of school education in Japan through a distance education program offered by a university in a country other than Japan, or who have completed a 15-year program of school education at a foreign country’s educational facility in Japan (that requires a 15-year education period for graduation, and that is recognized by the Japanese Minister of Education as a foreign country’s educational facility). Applicants should also be recognized by the graduate schools of the University of Tsukuba as having an outstanding academic record.
  4. Individuals who have entered a graduate program and who are recognized by the graduate schools of the University of Tsukuba as having an appropriate academic ability in order to follow the graduate courses, as stipulated by Article 155, Paragraph 1, Item 7 of the Enforcement Regulation of the School Education Law.

Note) In the case of applicants falling in category 9-12 of the Requirements for Eligibility shown above, eligibility screening* is necessary. Please get the prescribed style from the Graduate Admissions website and send it to us by mail or e-mail with required certificates, your address, telephone number and e-mail address. Deadline is August 28, 2020 (October) or November 27, 2020 (February). Contact us before sending, please.
If you send your graduation certificate and academic transcript by e-mail, please convert it JPEG format or PDF file. After the eligibility screening, your application qualification is approved, please send the original these. We will tell you certification number.
(*) Eligibility screening means we will examine whether the applicant has more academic ability than who have graduated from university.

Eligibility for Special Selection of Working Individuals

Individuals who meet the requirement of (A) or (B) and who continue working more than 3 years at the time of entrance the graduate school.
