Admission Policy(Master’s Program)
情報学学位プログラムは、文系・理系といった区分を越えた新しい学問領域の開拓を目指し、
学際的でさまざまな領域の研究が行われていることから、学群・学部段階での専門領域にこだわらず、分野・経歴・年齢・国籍を問わず、学ぶ意欲・研究意欲の高い人を幅広く受け入れます。
The program aims to develop a new academic field that transcends the division between arts and sciences. The master’s program accepts students from diverse academic fields, regardless of their college of origin or undergraduate specialty. The program recruits students with a strong desire to study and perform research, regardless of their field, personal history, age, or nationality.

入学者選抜方法のあらまし
Overview of the admissions process
博士前期課程は推薦入学試験、一般入学試験、社会人特別選抜、英語受験者特別選抜によって選抜します。入学試験の内容と入学時期が異なるだけで、どの試験で入学しても、入学後の教育課程はまったく同じです。一般入学試験での入学者は、入学後、２ヶ月程度かけて研究テーマと指導教員のマッチングを行います。
推薦入学試験は、所属長の推薦を受けた学士取得見込み者に対して口述試験を行います。
一般入学試験では英語試験と口述試験を行います。
社会人特別選抜では、３年の社会的経験を有する者を対象に、英語試験を免除し、口述試験のみを行います。
英語受験者特別選抜では、主として留学生を対象に、英語試験と英語による口述試験を行います。口述試験ではビデオ会議ツールを使用します。
一般入学試験では指導教員の内諾を必要としていませんが、長期履修の申請などで、入学前に指導教員が必要となる場合があります。
学士の学位がなくとも、学位プログラムが実施する受験資格審査によっては受験が認められる場合があります。

The Master’s Program selects students through Special Selection Process for Recommended Applicants, General Selection Process, Special Selection Process for Working Individuals, and Special Selection Process of Global Individuals in English. The content of the entrance examination and the timeline of admission are the only differences, but no matter which examination you take, the educational program after admission will be exactly same.
For the Special Selection Process for Recommended Applicants, an oral examination will be conducted for prospective bachelor candidates who have been recommended by the head of the organization to which the applicant belongs. The applicant must contact their prospective advisor in advance and confirm that they are willing to work with the applicant upon enrollment.
For the General Selection Process, an English examination and an oral examination are conducted. Students will spend about two months after enrollment to match their research theme with an academic advisor. Although the General Selection Process does not require the consent of an academic advisor at the time of application, there are cases where the academic advisor’s consent is required prior to enrollment, such as when applying for long-term study.
For the Special Selection Process for Working Individuals, applicants with three years of work experience are exempt from the English examination and will only take the oral examination. The applicant must contact their prospective advisor in advance and confirm that they are willing to work with the applicant upon enrollment.
For the Special Selection Process of Global Individuals in English, which is mainly for international students, an English examination and an oral examination in English will be conducted. The oral examination will be conducted using a video conference tool. The applicant must contact their prospective advisor in advance and confirm that they are willing to work with the applicant upon enrollment.
If you do not have a bachelor’s degree, you may still be eligible to take the examination depending on the eligibility screening conducted by the degree program.

英語試験
English Examination
英語試験は、TOEIC Listening & Readingの公式認定証(Official Score Certificate)、TOEFL iBT、TOEFL iBT Home Edition、TOEFL iBT Paper EditionのOfficial Score Report 又はTest Taker Score Report、IELTS Academicの成績証明書の点数を以下のルールで換算して用います。いずれも出願2年以内のスコアが有効です。
We will evaluate your English proficiency based on your score of TOEIC Listening & Reading Official Score Certificate, Official Score Reports or Test Taker Score Report of TOEFL iBT, TOEFL iBT Home Edition and TOEFL iBT Paper Edition, Test Report Form of IELTS Academic . Any tests must be taken within 2 years from the time of application.
満点（100点）と最低点(0点)の間を線形補間します。
English scores are converted using linear interpolation between the full score (100) and the lowest score (0).

次の条件 A又はB に該当する志願者は英語試験を免除し、英語の得点を100点とします。
(A) 米国教育省の認定を受けた大学を卒業した者または入学までに卒業見込みの者
(B) 英語が教授言語である大学を卒業した者または入学までに卒業見込みの者
ただし、教授言語が英語であることを証明する大学が発行する公式文書が必要です
Applicants who meet either of the following requirements will be exempt from the English examination and will receive a score of 100 points in English.
(A) Those who have received or will receive a degree from a university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education.
(B) Those who have received or will receive a degree from an accredited university where English is the language of instruction. If you fulfill this requirement, you must submit an official document from your university that certifies that English is the language of instruction at your institution.
