Certificate Program in “Library, Museum, and Archives Resources Management Course”

The “Library Resource Management Course” was established in the Master’s and Doctoral Programs in Informatics in AY 2021, aimed at the cultivation of human resources who will be equipped with the knowledge for resource management by registering for specialized courses on library and information science and will assume the sharing and continuation of cultural resources in libraries, museums, archives, etc.

The name of “Library Resources Management Course” will be changed to “Library, Museum, and Archives Resources Management Course” from AY 2023.

Although the completion of the Library Resources Management Course, a “Certificate of Studies” will be issued under the name of “Library, Museum, and Archives Resources Management Course” for applications received after AY 2023.

Eligible students
Graduate students and credited auditors of the University of Tsukuba

Requirement for completion
Earning 12 credits or more from the following course schedule within 4 years from the initial acquisition of credits is the requirement for completion. Furthermore, if an undergraduate student took a course as per the attached schedule by AY2022 and was granted credits based on the “Handling of approval for undergraduate students to take graduate courses”, the credit of the course can be admitted as a requirement for completion of the “Library, Museum, and Archives Resources Management Course”. Other recognized credits will not be admitted as a requirement for completion. Students who were recognized to complete the “Library, Museum, and Archives Resources Management Course” will be issued a Certificate of Studies.

Points to consider
・If the requirement for completion is met, application for certificate issuance will be accepted even after completion of graduate school.
・Undergraduate students may take the course required for completion by AY2022 with the early completion system and credits recognized after enrolling in graduate school may be included in the requirements for completion.
・Please refer to note (2) in the “Correspondence Table of Courses for Master’s Program in Informatics and Master’s Program in Library, information and Media Studies” for the courses taken by students who belong to the Master’s Program in Library, Information and Media Studies.

Application for certificate issuance
For those who want the issuance of the certificate, attach an academic transcript that can attest that the requirement for completion of the Library, Museum, and Archives Resources Management Course is met in the “Application for Certificate Issuance” and submit it to the Academic Service Office for the Library, Information and Media Sciences Area.

Submission period of the application for certificate issuance
About a week after the beginning of the access date of grade records after Spring Module B
About a week after the beginning of the access date of grade records after Fall Module B

Certificate issuance
The certificate will be issued by the Graduate Academic Affairs Section, Academic Service Office for the Library, Information and Media Sciences Area that received the application for certificate issuance at the end of the spring semester or the end of the fall semester.
