Outline of the Curriculum of the Master’s Program in Informatics
The Master’s Program in Informatics provide the curriculum in Japanese for students who enroll in the spring semester (April), curriculum in English for students who enroll in the fall semester (October), and curriculum for working individuals who are centered on attending classes on Tokyo Campus in an integrated manner.
The requirement for completion is 30 credits (20 credits for lectures and 10 credits for seminars). For details, refer to Registration Procedures and Completion Requirement(For those who enrolled in or before 2021/For those who enrolled in 2022/For those who enrolled in or after 2023).
For major courses provided by the Master’s Program in Informatics, refer to the List of Courses. For the correspondence relation of each course, refer to the Course Correspondence Table (In Preparation). There are overlapping courses that cannot be taken so plan courses with reference to the Course Correspondence Table.

- If prescribed credits were obtained entirely in courses where the medium of instruction is in Japanese
- If prescribed credits were obtained entirely in courses where the medium of instruction is in English
- If prescribed credits were obtained by combining courses where the medium of instruction is in Japanese and courses where the medium of instruction is in English

- Lectures offered in Tsukuba Campus are held every other year in Japa
- nese or English. For example, “Practical Data Science” is offered in Japanese as “データサイエンス実践” in even-numbered years and in English as “Practical Data Science” in odd-numbered years. On the one hand, “Biological and Life Informatics” is offered in English as “Biological and Life Informatics” in even-numbered years and in Japanese as “生体生命情報” in odd-numbered years.
- Seminars (Methodological Foundation Courses) offered in Tsukuba Campus are held every year in Japanese or English. For example, “Literature Survey” is offered in Japanese as “文献調査法” and in English as “Literature Survey” every year.
