Kojiro Tanaka (Mikawa Laboratory)

My research interests are related to media representation and display. In our laboratory (https://mikawalab.org/), Social Robotics Lab., we can freely choose our own research topics, and I work so hard to realize unique display technologies that can combine natural landscapes with information technology through research on the artificial grass display. There are different information research fields in this Master’s and Doctoral Programs in Informatics, and there is a casual atmosphere for open communication between people from different fields. Thanks to it, my research of the artificial grass display can be conducted from various fields including robotics, image processing, and computer graphics. In addition, our degree programs provide generous support for presenting research results at international conferences, traveling abroad, and submitting to international journals. Therefore, I  had a variety of experiences in planning research, implementing and evaluating the system, and presenting research results at IEEE international conferences and in Nature Scientific Reports international journals with such support from the degree program and our lab. This is an open place, so if you are interested in our program, please feel free to contact us. The intense research activities in the degree programs will surely enhance your horizons, and make you as sparkling and attractive as a 4K or 8K high-definition display.
