Study Abroad

Master’s and Doctoral Programs in Informatics actively promote international exchange by accepting excellent international students from overseas and offering current students with opportunities to study abroad.

In FY2022, we have accepted 34 international students in total from China, Taiwan, the United States, and the United Kingdom for the master’s course, and a total of 6 international students from China, Taiwan, the United States, and Pakistan for the doctoral course. In addition, current students preferred to study abroad at Stuttgart Media University, Linz University of Technology and Design, and Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), and so on. For instance, one student who was interested in German public libraries stayed at the Stuttgart Media University for a year, where he learned German and conducted research on German public libraries for his master’s thesis. During his stay, he had lots of discussions through online communication for his master’s thesis with his academic advisor at the University of Tsukuba in Japan, and at the same time, he received a lot of support from a professor at the Stuttgart Media University in his everyday life and research. In this sense, Master’s and Doctoral Programs in Informatics provide an excellent environment for current students to develop their careers in the global world.
